NSDR is comprised of a network of volunteers and foster homes; there is no physical shelter. While awaiting adoption, NSDR animals live in the care of trusted foster families where they receive the attention and love needed to prepare them for placement in permanent homes.
While our primary focus is dogs, we do rescue cats and kittens locally, assisting animal control, law enforcement and private citizens with removal or rescue of the animals and re-homing. This activity actually costs us money, since we will not release cats or kittens until they have been fully vetted and altered, and we cannot charge much for an adoption fee. Financial support for this work is needed and greatly appreciated.
Our Dog of the Month - Casey! March 2014
Calling ALL fosters!! Casey is desperately in need of a foster home! He is a NSDR dog and is being kenneled as his previous owner had her knees replaced and decided that he is just too much dog for her. Casey is a young, affectionate and energetic guy who is eager to please and very receptive to training. He has done well in doggy daycare and needs a home where he will get frequent long walks, hikes, or time to chase a ball! He will reward you with kisses and snuggles and plenty of gratitude. He needs OUT of the kennel as he is going cage crazy and has begun to show aggression to other dogs. Please help! We know that with the right, strong leader, Casey will feel reassured once again! Time is of the essence. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info!
